Davis & Buck tie longstanding RBI record

In 1927, Lou Gehrig set a major-league record for RBIs in his first 10 games of a season (19).  In the 85 seasons that followed—from 1928 through 2012—only one player matched Gehrig’s feat: Manny Ramirez in 1999.  Against all odds, two players have tied the Gehrig/Ramirez record this season: Chris Davis of the Orioles, who never finished a season in MLB’s top 40 in RBIs; and John Buck of the Mets, whose highest MLB rank was 100th in 2010.
